First success for Théo Pourchaire

The Marseillaise rang out at Spielberg! French Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix), second youngest driver in the field, indeed achieved a superb success this Sunday morning during race 2 of the Styrian Grand Prix. He got ahead Logan sargeant (Prema) and David Beckmann (Trident) at the end of the 24 laps completed under safety car regime.

Starting 2nd, the native of Grasse made his start, taking control of the race from the first turn in favor of Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab). Despite very good defensive maneuvers, he was unable to do anything at turn 4, during the 4th lap, when Liam Lawson (Hitech) and Hughes activated their DRS. Behind, he knew how to stay in contact with the duo, and turn his back to resist the incisive Logan Sargeant (Prema).

But it was two laps from the end that his victory took shape. While Lawson and Hughes were fighting for victory, the two men collided at turn 4, giving the Frenchman the opportunity to score his first success. Thanks to this great performance, Théo Pourchaire has definitively launched his season. An appointment has been made with the Hungaroring next weekend.
