Schumacher joins Charouz Racing

Charouz Racing has confirmed its trio of drivers for the 2020 season of F3. Niko Kari will spearhead the team alongside David Schumacher and rookie Igor Fraga.

Niko Kari has extensive experience in F3 having played two seasons in the GP3 Series with Arden and MP Motosport and one in F3 with Trident.

“It will be a great challenge to fight for podiums and why not the title as well? I want to progress as a driver and Charouz is a very professional team. I hope this can be the start of a long relationship”, comments the Finn.

David Schumacher discovered F3 last year by competing in the final in Sochi (Russia) with Campos Racing, taking 22nd and 20th places, and by competing in the Macau GP. At 18, the son of Ralf Schumacher has to his credit the runner-up position in the United Arab Emirates F4 in 2018 and 3 victories in the European Formula Regional last year.

“My two races at the end of the year were good preparation for this first full season, declares the German. I need to learn more about the car, but we don't have a lot of testing during race weekends. »

Igor Fraga a participé aux essais d’après-saison avec Charouz Racing et Carlin. Le Brésilien de 21 ans s’est distingué en Formule Régionale européenne s’est distingué en remportant la première Nations Cup de Gran Turismo Sport. Il est actuellement en tête des Toyota Racing Series.
