Sebastian Fernandez (ART) takes first pole of the season

This is called throwing your car on the line. While Lirim Zendeli (Trident) was on the verge of taking his first pole position in F3, Sebastian Fernandez (ART) insulted him by hoisting his name to the top of the timesheet on the gong (1'19"429). The resident of the French team managed to improve the German's time by 00”016. The two men beat the Prema contingent composed ofOscar piastri (3rd, +0'00 »135), from Logan sargeant (4th, +0'00”166) and Frédérik Vesti (6th, +0'00”247), separated by only Jack Hughes (5th, +0'00”189).

In an extremely nervous qualifying session contested on a short circuit, the French Theo Pourchaire, 16 years old (and second youngest driver on the grid), was only able to grab 20th place (+00 »909). The Frenchman suffered from traffic in the first part of qualifying and slightly lost the rear on his final fast lap. For his part, his compatriot Clément Novalak, who races under a British license, will start from 15th place (+0″682) despite a scare in the gravel.

Announced only a few days ago after just one short year in F4, Czech Roman Stanek took a surprising 10th place and will start on the fifth row on Saturday, in race 1 (10:25 a.m.).
