Victor Martins takes a French double and unlocks his counter

He often came very close to his first victory in F3 in recent weeks, but this time, it did not escape him. The Tricolore indeed won race 2 of the Zandvoort meeting this Saturday evening, taking a French double ahead of Clément Novalak (Trident). A very important success for the Ile-de-France resident, who confided this Saturday that he would be frustrated not to end the season with a success under his belt. It is now done. This victory, with the two bonus points for the best lap in the race, allows him to overtake Frederik Vesti in 3rd place in the championship, and to reposition himself four races from the end of the season, even if he counts still quite a bit behind the two leaders.

Starting 5th, the Habs perfectly resisted Dennis Hauger (Prema), the championship leader, before getting the better of Olli Caldwell (Prema), still in the first lap. A sublime overtake on the inside in the banking on Frederik Vesti (ART Grand Prix) on the 6th lap then allowed him to position himself on the podium. After several loops in the exhausts of poleman Ido Cohen (Carlin), the Frenchman ended up passing him at the first turn on the 14th lap, before charging at his compatriot Clément Novalak (Trident), whom he passed two laps later.

Also author of a very good race, Dennis Hauger thought he could get on the podium two laps from the goal, when the safety car came in after the abandonment of Amaury Cordeel (Campos). The championship leader was trapped coming out of the banking area, when Ido Cohen wiped his front wing on his right rear wheel. The Norwegian, suffering a puncture, had to put his foot down and lose big points in the title race. But the driver supported by Red Bull can be reassured by knowing that his main opponent Jack Doohan (Trident) also finished out of the points after an error at the end of the race. Also note the beautiful operation, therefore, of Clément Novalak. The Frenchman took his second podium of the year, after deliberately losing places in Race 1 in order to start on the front row.
