The rise of Victor Martins (MP Motorsport) continues. As he discovers the FIA F3 after his title acquired in Formula Renault Eurocup last year, the Frenchman obviously has no problem adapting. Already very competitive at Spielberg two weeks ago for the first phase of pre-season testing, he also dominated the first of the two days of testing held in Barcelona this Wednesday, with more than half a second ahead on competition.
And proof that this was anything but an accident, the Ile-de-France resident did it again this Thursday morning (1'31"636), ahead of Alexander Smolyar (ART Grand Prix/+0"132) and Jack Doohan (Trident/+0"167) . Also note the good performance of Logan sargeant (Charouz/+0”170), not yet announced as starting for the season but which allows the Czech team, in difficulty last year, to shine.
On the French side, in addition to Victor Martins, Clément Novalak (Trident) once again showed his solidity and his burst of speed with a new top 5 in the race (+0”240). Pierre-Louis Chovet (Jenzer/+0”596) finished the session in 15th position, while Reshad de Gerus (Charouz) took 27th place at 1”449.
This Thursday afternoon, the 30 drivers will leave for a three-hour session (13 p.m.-16 p.m.), the last before the official start of the season, which will be given on this same Montmelo track on May 7.
