FR 2.0 – Fenestraz dominates in the rain

Sacha Fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) remained out of reach of his opponents in Race 2 of the Formula Renault Eurocup at the Nürburgring contested in the rain. The Frenchman retained his pole advantage after a safe start and scored his second victory of the season after Race 2 in Monaco.

Despite a new intervention by the safety car following several collisions in the peloton, Sacha Fenestraz protected his leading position against Daniel Ticktum (Arden) who was not able to keep up with the pace of the leader and who finished better rookie almost 4s behind the winner.

Yifei Ye (Josef Kaufmann Racing) completes the podium. If the Chinese gave way to Robert Shwartzman (R-ace GP), he regained 3rd place on the last lap taking advantage of the error of the winner of Race 1 who went off the track at the first turn in the last round and who could only finish in 8th place.

Gabriel Aubry (Tech 1 Racing) made a good comeback from 8th position to finish in 4th place ahead of Will Palmer (R-ace GP) and Max Defourny (R-ace GP) who lost several positions at the start of the race.
