FR 3.5 – Esteban Ocon will start in Budapest

The Formula entry list Renault 3.5 for next weekend was updated this Monday afternoon with a major announcement, namely the arrival of the French Esteban Ocon in the World Series by Renault peloton for the Budapest meeting at the Hungaroring in Hungary. It's a return to his roots for the young 17-year-old driver, who will also celebrate his 18th birthday in a little over a week, and who had already competed in the WSR, in Eurocup FR 2.0 in 2012 and 2013. on behalf of the Koiranen GP and the French team ART Junior Team, with a 3rd place finish last year.

This time, Ocon will play within the Comtec Racing team alongside Briton Cameron Twynham, already seen in the team during the last round at the Nürburgring. The member of the Lotus F1 Team Junior joins on the starting grid the other French drivers Norman Nato, Pierre Gasly and Matthieu Vaxivière. This is a new step which has been taken by the leader of the F3 European, where it dominates a certain Max Verstappen, who will make the big jump to F1 next year at Toro Rosso replacing another Frenchman, Jean-Eric Vergne.

Esteban only drove a Team Lotus Charouz FR 3.5 once during a single day of the Rookies tests at Motorland Aragon, at the end of 2013. He set the 3rd fastest time behind Raffaele Marciello and Sergey Sirotkin. After the Hungaroring, the next round of Paul Ricard is normally planned for the Norman.
