FR 3.5: Robin Frijns, king of the offseason

When we take the crown in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 against adversaries, protected from Red Bull, having the name Carlos Sainz Jr or Daniil Kvyat, we can only be talented. But in addition to being talented, Robin Frijns has shown great adaptability. This winter, he dominated the Formula Renault 3.5 Series tests. The Dutchman once again achieved the best time of the two days of testing which took place yesterday and today in Spain, on the Motorland-Aragon track. The Fortec Motorsports resident completed a lap in 1'39"105. Although it is far too early to venture into risky predictions as the differences are so small, it is a safe bet that Frijns will be in the leading group.

After a difficult day yesterday, Jules Bianchi stood out today, setting the third time of the two sessions. This morning behind Robin Frijns and Richie Stanaway. This afternoon behind Nico Müller and Carlos Huertas. “We have reviewed all the conditions we should encounter this season, says the Frenchman from Tech 1 Racing. We worked on races, qualifying, pit stops and starts, both in the dry and in the wet. I therefore believe that we are ready, it now remains to materialize. Enter here Formula 1 and the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, we have to separate things carefully and concentrate on each of the objectives. I am not going to the Bahrain Grand Prix in order to concentrate completely on the first meeting of the World Series by Renault. » Encouraging, as were the performances of Arthur Pic (Dams), second yesterday and fourth this morning.

See you now on the weekend of May 5 and 6 for the first round of the season, on the same Motorland-Aragon track.
