FR 3.5 – Sorensen hits the jackpot at Spa

Marco Sorensen seized his chance to give his Lotus team the first victory. The Dane took advantage of an attempt to overtake Sam Bird (ISR) on the pole sitter Kevin Magnussen (Carlin) where the two leaders went wide at the Bus Stop chicane to take the lead of the race. The gaps were tight between the drivers since the safety car had intervened at the end of the race so that the marshals could evacuate the car by Lucas Foresti (Dams).

Jules Bianchi (Tech 1 Racing) was also opportunistic by taking three places at once in the same corner while he was in fifth position. The Frenchman notes with joy the good work done with his team. ?I hope I?ll win one soon! We work a lot with Tech 1 Racing. Yesterday we were 16th in collective testing, we improved the car and I also worked on my driving. I was opportunistic in the race, that's what you have to do when it's so competitive. »

Sam Bird, the winner of the Monaco round and leader of the Championship, completes the podium ahead of Mikhail Aleshin (Team RFR) and Nico Müller (International Draco Racing). Arthur Pic was aiming for fourth position at the end of the race, but the Frenchman got into a collision with pole sitter Kevin Magnussen at the Source hairpin. The Dane finished last classified while the Dams driver had to settle for 15th position.
