FR2.0 – Jake Hughes present for the debut of Strakka

Jake Hughes has little experience in Formula Renault 2.0, but Strakka Racing nevertheless chose it to defend its interests from his debut in Eurocup FR 2.0 during the next round of the World Series by Renault at the Hungaroring on September 13 and 14. However, the 20-year-old Briton has had time to get his bearings since he is participating in the FR 2.0 NEC with Mark Burdett Racing with whom he even took part in a meeting as part of the World Series by Renault. The new Strakka Racing recruit is also the reigning BRDC F4 champion.

“Strakka Racing enters the final rounds of the Eurocup as a wildcard with a view to a full season in 2015”, recalls Team Principal Dan Walmsley. “Jake will bring value and experience. We know the circuits but we keep in mind that this is a category where we have things to learn. The arrival of Jake will be a real asset for 2015.”

For his part, Jake Hughes can count on the seriousness and professionalism of his new team which has several seasons in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series and which currently occupies third place in the Championship with Matias Laine and Will Stevens. “Strakka needs no introduction in the training disciplines in car and it’s fantastic to be there for their debut in FR 2.0”, comments the Briton. “We had a productive test, the atmosphere within the team is nice, and I can't wait to see what we can do in Hungary. »

Strakka Racing will have a third chassis from 2015 for drivers interested in Eurocup FR 2.0, NEC or British racing. The second driver for the team's debut will be announced soon.
