FR2.0 – Shwartzman regains the lead at the Nürburgring

Robert Shwartzman took his 4th victory of the season in Race 1 of the Eurocup Formula Renault on the Nürburgring (Germany). After starting from pole, the Russian retained the lead of the race against his teammate Max Defourny who maintained the pressure but who ultimately finished 6 tenths behind the winner while nevertheless giving R-ace GP a double.

Sacha Fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) completed the podium after taking the lead from Daniel Ticktum (Arden). The Briton took 4th place in the Frenchman's exhausts and finished best rookie but the results remain provisional, the Arden driver being under investigation by the stewards for having cut the last corner while resisting Max Fewtrell (Tech 1 Racing).

Will Palmer (R-ace GP) finished in 8th place after starting from 10th place. The Briton cedes control of the Championship to Robert Shwartzman.

The start of Race 2 of the Eurocup Formula Renault with Sacha Fenestraz on pole will be given this Sunday at 9 a.m.
