FR3.5 – Alfonso Celis Jr doubles his program

2015 will be a busy year for the Mexican Alfonso Celis Jr. The 18-year-old driver will be on one side aligned by the French team ART Grand Prix on the GP3 Series events (after a 2014 season contested under the colors of Status GP), and will double its program with a commitment to FR3.5, queen event of the World Series by Renault, within the Spanish team of Adrian Vallés AV Formula.

“I couldn't have hoped for a better start to the season, admits Celis Jr. Competing in the very competitive Formula Renault 3.5 with AVF is the best possible solution I could find. I thank everyone who made this deal possible and I look forward to this year which will feature a doubleheader with the GP3 Series. »

“I am delighted to welcome a promising young driver like Alfonso to our team, indicates Adrian Vallés for his part. He is one of the best prospects coming out of Mexico, and we already have an option on him for 2016. We already knew him from a test we had with him in FR2.0 early in his career, but now he has also gained considerable experience in GP3 and Formula 3. I am convinced that we will be able to achieve the objectives set for this season. » Celis Jr will team up this year with the Dutchwoman Beitske Visser, who was extended by AVF at the end of 2014.

The first round of Formula Renault 3.5 will take place on April 25 and 26 in Spain, at the Motorland of Aragon.
