Oliver Rowland is very close to the FR 3.5 Series title after securing his seventh victory of the season by winning Race 1 at Le Mans.

FR3.5-C1: Oliver Rowland one step away from the title at Le Mans

The title no longer seems to be able to escape Oliver Rowland (Fortec Motorsports) which scored its seventh victory of the season in Formula at Le Mans (Sarthe). Renault 3.5 Series after dominating Race 1 where he started on pole.

The Briton retained the advantage despite strong pressure from his direct rival Matthieu Vaxiviere (Lotus) who finally finished in tenth place. The Frenchman received a ten-second penalty for cutting the chicane several times.

Yegor Orudzhev (Arden Motorsport) and Tom dillmann (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) complete the podium in front Dean Stoneman (Dams) and Aurelien Panis (Tech 1 Racing), author of a nice takeoff from ninth place.

Oliver Rowland will only have to score one point to clinch the title, the Briton having a 74-point lead with three races remaining in the season. Fortec Motorsports has already secured the Teams title.

Qualifying for Race 2 of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series at Le Mans will take place this Sunday, September 27 from 9 a.m. while the start of the event will be at 13:30 p.m.
