FR3.5-C2: Oliver Rowland wins the title at Le Mans

Oliver Rowland (Fortec Motorsports) succeeds Carlos Sainz Jr by becoming the new Formula champion Renault 3.5 Series at the end of Race 2 at Le Mans (Sarthe) where he took eighth place.

The Briton only needed one point to secure the title after his success in Race 1 and he managed to move up the positions one round from the end of the season. “It was a difficult race because I'm a little ill”, explained the new champion.

Yegor Orudhev (Arden Motorsport) took its second victory of the year. Although he only started from fifth position, the Russian took the advantage during the stops before resisting the pressure of Matthieu Vaxiviere (Lotus) who had to settle for second place in front of the pole sitter Tio Ellinas (Strakka Racing) who stopped early.

Dean Stoneman (Dams) and Tom dillmann (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) complete the top five ahead Aurelien Panis (Tech 1 Racing).
