Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP) had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Unhappy during his recent outings with in particular some technical problems, the Ile-de-France resident saw his efforts rewarded with his first victory of the Asian campaign of the F3 Regional.
Second on the grid after seeing Paul Aron (Abu Dhabi Racing) take pole position from him earlier in the day, Isack Hadjar did not take long to stand out. Well off to a good start when the lights went out, the Tricolor waited behind the Estonian on the start/finish straight before attacking him in the first turns of the Dubai Autodrome to scold him.
With a very good defense, the member of Red Bull Junior Team managed to keep Paul Aron behind him but the entry of the safety car forced him to do everything again. Starting like an arrow at the end of the neutralization period, Isack Hadjar created a small margin over the Estonian, giving himself some breathing space for the end of the race.
But there you have it, the rhythm of car from Paul Aron well above his own pushed Isack Hadjar to toughen up his defense to preserve his property in the final moments. Despite the return of the Estonian and a few attempts on his part, the Frenchman managed to resist to glean his first success in this FRAC 2022. A sigh of relief for him after so much disillusionment since the start of the campaign. Third on the grid, Pepe Marti (Pinnacle Motorsport) retained his position under the checkerboard while Arthur Leclerc (Mumbai Falcons) and Gabriele Mini (Hitech GP) completed the Top 5.
With this victory, Isack Hadjar moved up to 3rd place in the championship, still dominated by Arthur Leclerc.
