Starting on the front row just behind Pierre-Louis Chovet, Arthur Leclerc mastered his subject this Sunday morning to win and take control of the championship for the first time this year.

With a good reaction when the lights went out, Arthur Leclerc immediately fulfilled his objective and took the lead of the race from the first turn after gaining the upper hand over Pierre-Louis Chovet on the inside. However, the Monegasque had to relax his efforts from the first minutes with the exit of the track of Dilano van't Hoff which caused the entry of the Safety Car.

Without much difficulty, the brother of Charles Leclerc mastered the restart of the race but Pierre-Louis Chovet remained in contact. Under pressure from the Habs, the Monegasque showed great mischief and good defense to protect his position while his counterpart was finally trapped and saw Dino Beganovic and Isack Hadjar pass in front.

Taking advantage of the three-way fight behind him, Arthur Leclerc moved away in the lead and thus protected himself from a possible attack from Dino Beganovic, his new runner-up. The last intervention of the Safety Car which restarted the race for one lap changed nothing and the Prema driver went off to cross the finish line alone.

  • Hadjar rewarded, Chovet unhappy

Unhappy at Yas Marina where the mechanics prevented him from taking the lead in the championship, Isack Hadjar hosted this first Sunday race. In great form, the Ile-de-France resident was in the battle for 2nd place for a long time against Pierre-Louis Chovet but ultimately had to settle for the last step of the podium after an intense battle involving the two men but also Dino Beganovic and Hadrien David .

Once 2nd, Isack Hadjar finally left with the trophy for 3rd after seeing Dino Beganovic pass in front of him when he attempted to overtake Pierre-Louis Chovet. The latter finally finished at the gates of the Top 5 since Hadrien David and Lorenzo Fluxa overtook the Frenchman in the last 10 minutes.

In the championship, Arthur Leclerc carried out the perfect operation as he took the lead with 14 points ahead of Sebastian Montoya. Isack Hadjar is 3rd, 21 points behind the Monegasque.
