Nirei Fukuzumi (Dandelion Racing - Honda) took pole position for the Suzuka event, the second meeting of the year in Super Formula.

Fukuzumi takes his first pole at Suzuka, Alesi shines

For the first time in his career Super Formula, Nirei Fukuzumi (Dandelion Racing – Honda) will start from pole position this Sunday at Suzuka for the second round of the 2021 season of the series car lighthouse in Japan.

Dominant in Q3 with a reference time established in 1'36"449, Fukuzumi, 3rd at the opening of the championship in Fuji, is ahead of the leader of the general classification Tomoki Nojiri (Team Mugen – Honda) by a little less than two tenths, when Toshiki Oyu (Nakajima Racing) completes the 100% Honda top three.

Ryo Hirakawa once again proves himself to be the best representative of the clan Toyota, placing his Team Impul car in 4th position. Followed by Ukyo Sasahara (Dandelion Racing – Honda), Ritomo Miyata (Team Tom's – Toyota), Yuhi Sekiguchi (Team Impul – Toyota) and Giuliano Alesi (Team Tom’s – Toyota), author of a superb qualification for his debut.

Second in his group in Q1, fifth in Q2, the Frenchman was at his advantage during this session. Tatiana Calderon (Drago Corse with Threebond – Honda) finished 19th. The race will start tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. French time.
