FV8 3.5 – Alfonso Celis Jr signs his first success at Spa
Starting on pole for the first time in his career in Formula V8 3.5, Alfonso Celis Jr (Fortec Motorsport) did not tremble at the start unlike Pietro Fittipaldi (Lotus) who stalled from his second place and found himself last at the Source.
From the first hectometers, Celis built a comfortable lead over René Binder (Lotus) who appeared to be in more difficulty. The latter was passed consecutively by Roy Nissany (RP Motorsport), Egor Orudzhev (SMP Racing with AVF), Diego Menchaca (Fortec Motorsport) and Yu Kanamaru (RP Motorsport).
Damiano Fioravanti (RP Motortsport), Pietro Fittipaldi returning from the last positions, and the Teo Martín of Nelson Mason and Konstantin Tereschenko completed the top 10. Cipriani and Isaakyan both retired in the first laps of the race.
