FV8 3.5 – Isaakyan untouchable at the Nürburgring

Matevos Isakyaan (SMP Racing by AVF) dominated Race 1 of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 at the Nürburgring by winning more than 6s ahead of Alfonso Celis Jr (Fortec Motorsports), while his teammate Egor Orudzhev completed the podium after resisting attacks from Roy Nissany (RP Motorsport).

The Russian, who scored his second victory of the season after Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), took advantage of the poor start of pole sitter Alex Palou (Teo Martin Motorsport) and Pietro Fittipaldi (Lotus) to take the lead in the race and stay out of reach of his opponents, while the Brazilian fell in the standings by being harpooned by Nelson's replacement Mason who had to return to the pits to change his front wing.

Pietro Fittipaldi saved the furniture by taking 7th place behind his teammate René Binder after putting constant pressure on the Austrian during the 24 laps of the event. Alex Palou finally ranks 11th, preceding only Giuseppe Cipriani (Il Barone Rampante) but he will have a new opportunity since he will start on pole for Race 2, the start of which will be given this Sunday at 11 a.m.
