GP3 – C1: Fuoco victorious at Hockenheim

Antonio Fuoco (Trident) won at the end of Race 1 of the GP3 Series in Hockenheim (Germany). Starting third following a problem in the formation lap for Jake Dennis (Arden International), the Italian took the advantage by being the quickest to restart after the end of the virtual safety car following several incidents.

Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix) took second place almost six seconds behind the winner after also gaining an advantage over his teammate and pole sitter Alex Albon. The Thai finally failed to finish fourth behind Matthew Parry (Koiranen GP) but increased his lead in the Championship by four points against Charles Leclerc (ART Grand Prix) which finds itself at seven units.

Penalized by three positions at the end of qualifying, Charles Leclerc managed to climb into second place after starting from fifth place. But the Monegasque fell again to fifth position after going wide at the first corner of the last lap while trying to resist pressure from Nyck de Vries.

Jake Hughes (Dams) will start from pole in the Sprint Race after finishing in eighth place behind Jack Aitken (Arden International) and Arjun Maini (Jenzer Motorsport). Santino Ferrucci (Dams) and Tatiana Calderon (Arden International) complete the top ten. Giuliano Alesi (Trident) retired.
