GP3-C2: Albon shines at the Hungaroring

Alexander albon (ART Grand Prix) scored its third GP3 Series victory of the season by winning Race 2 at the Hungaroring (Hungary). The Thai took control of the event by overtaking pole sitter Arjun Maini (Jenzer Motorsport) at the first corner before the race was neutralized following an accident.

The safety car entered the track following the crash of Akash Nandy (Jenzer Motorsport) who rolled after hitting Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix) at the start. The Malaysian was able to extract himself from his car.

Alex Albon retained the lead until the checkered flag, ahead of Arjun Maini and Charles Leclerc (ART Grand Prix). The Monegasque cedes the lead of the Championship to the winner by three points.

Jack Aitken (Arden International) and Nirei Fukuzumi (ART Grand Prix) completed the top five ahead of Matt Parry (Koiranen GP), Saturday's winner, but the Briton was penalized five seconds for his contact with Ralph Boschung (Koiranen GP). ) at turn no. 14. The Arden International driver thus fell from fourth to sixth place behind the Japanese and Matthew Perry (Koiranen GP). The top ten is completed by Jake Dennis (Arden International), Matevos Isaakyan (Koiranen GP), Kevin Jörg (Dams) and Antonio Fuoco (Trident).
