GP3-C2 – First victory for Antonio Fuoco

Resident of the Ferrari Driver Academy, just like Charles Leclerc aligned in EL1 in F1 last Friday, Antonio Fuoco shone at Silverstone during the GP3 Series sprint race. The Italian waited until the last part of this Sunday round, and took advantage of the error of leader Alex Palou (Campos Racing) at Stowe to take control of the event after a tough battle with Charles Leclerc (ART Grand Prix ).

The end of the race was a bit confusing, with the checkered flag being lowered a lap too early. Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix), Leclerc and Palou were initially classified in that order, before a five-second penalty for contact during the race was imposed on de Vries, and the final results were established on the preceding lap the presentation of the checkered flag. Palou therefore finished second ahead of Leclerc, who achieves another good operation in the championship.

The virtual safety car procedure was implemented twice, once for the stop on track of Giuliano Alesi (Trident), then for the exit of Akash Nandy (Jenzer Motorsport).
