Jake Dennis scored his first GP3 Series success by winning Race 1 at Monza (Italy) ahead of teammate Jack Aitken, with both drivers giving Arden International a one-two finish.
The two Britons took the advantage over the pole sitter Charles Leclerc (ART Grand Prix) who was lacking pace in this event. The leader of the Drivers classification still secured the points for fourth place behind Jake Hughes (Dams) who completed an all-British podium by increasing his lead over his main opponent for the title Antonio Fuoco (Trident).
The Italian managed to get back into the Monegasque's exhausts after overtaking ART GP drivers Nirei Fukuzumi and Alex Albon, but a vigorous defense from Charles Leclerc forced the Trident driver to go slightly off the track. This incident caused him to lose performance and thus dropped him to eighth place behind Nyck de Vries who completed the ART Grand Prix training.
