We had to wait for the deceleration lap to find out the winner of FIA Race 2 Formula 3 in Austria. Second under the checkered flag, Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab) was promoted one place after a five-second penalty to Robert Shwartzman (Prema).

The Russian was found guilty of a collision with his teammate Marcus Armstrong (Prema) on the final lap. The two men engaged in an almost incessant battle during the 24 laps of the event. However, by braking too late, Robert Shwartzman hit the New Zealander's Dallara, causing the right rear tire to puncture.
While Marcus Armstrong finished painfully outside the points, Robert Shwartzman was content with third place, behind Jehan Daruvala (Prema). The winner of Saturday's race, Jüri Vips (HitechGP), finished sixth. Pole sitter Pedro Piquet spun alone at the exit of the first corner.
