Julien Jousse: “I remain positive”

Julien Jousse (AS Roma), after a hesitant start at Magny-Cours, was very confident about his level of competitiveness before the third qualifying session of the Superleague Formula season. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, one of the five French players who make up the current field, circumstances did not allow him to shine on French soil.

Delayed by a change of steering rack, the 2008 vice-champion of Formula Renault 3.5 Series was only able to take to the track when his teammate, Marcos Martinez (Sevilla FC), made a mistake, leading to the display of yellow flags on the circuit. Having not yet completed a lap, the Frenchman set a time, the best in his group, then canceled by the marshals since he was carried out under yellow flags. In fact, the AS Roma driver was unable to take part in the qualifying tournament bringing together the eight best drivers. He will start in 14th position on the starting grid for the first race on Sunday.

« I am very disappointed, confides Julien Jousse. I had no choice but to complete a lap before the end of the session, and the yellow flags were displayed. In absolute terms, I have nothing to regret because there was no other solution, but I had the potential to go far. I remain positive, this best lap in the qualifying group proves once again that I am performing well, and there are still three races left tomorrow, nothing is decided even if we could have started better! »
