Suzuka opening round postponed due to coronavirus

New postponement in motorsport due to the coronavirus. The Suzuka meeting on April 5, which was to open the 2020 Super Formula campaign, was postponed to a date not indicated by the promoter MobilityLand due to the spread of Covid-19 for several weeks, Japan being one of the countries affected with more than 200 cases.

A postponement also made for the pre-season tests which were to take place on March 9-10. These measures follow several government decisions, including closing schools last week in the archipelago.

Motor sports are increasingly affected by cancellations and postponements due to the virus, the championship MotoGP having confirmed the cancellation of the premier category event in Qatar (March 8), when the Thai government postponed the round planned in Buriram (March 22).
