Switzerland is full of points

After a failed first race, Switzerland won the Feature Race with Neel Jani and took the lead in the championship. Second under the checkered flag even though he did not complete a drive-through imposed by the race direction, Adam Carroll (Ireland) is ahead of Filipe Albuquerque (Portugal) and Fairuz Fauzy (Malaysia).

Switzerland is full of points

Author of pole position, Robert Doornbos (Netherlands) stopped on the formation lap, victim of a mechanical problem. With the absence of Brazil whose car had been damaged in the Sprint Race, two drivers were absent from the first three rows when the lights went out.

Adam Carroll got the best start ahead of Neel Jani, Adrian Zaugg (South Africa) and Marco Andretti (USA). From the first round, Filipe Albuquerque (Portugal) took over the American.

A few seconds before the first wave of supplies, Ireland was penalized by a drive-through. Neel Jani takes advantage, takes the lead and widens a significant gap.

On the attack to take second position, Earl Bamber (New Zealand) lost control of his car and collided with Adrian Zaugg. The safety car was launched on the track on the fifteenth lap.

When the race resumed, Filipe Albuquerque took the lead ahead of Neel Jani at the first braking. On the same lap, the duel between Marco Andretti and Vitantonio Liuzzi (Italy) ended in a collision that Clivio Piccione (Monaco) could not avoid.

The safety car intervenes a second time. Eight cars are already missing halfway through the race.

During the third start, Filipe Albuquerque defends his position against Neel Jani. Salvador Duran (Mexico), Fairuz Fauzy (Malaysia), Narain Karthikeyan (India) and Adam Carroll follow.

Portugal launches the second wave of supplies while Switzerland waits one more round and takes first position. Adam Carroll then attacked the Portuguese and took second position before being penalized again for overtaking during the second flying start.

The Irishman stayed on the track and continued to attack to catch up with Neel Jani in the final laps and put the leader under pressure. The Swiss retains first place and crosses the finish line ahead of Adam Carroll, Filipe Albuquerque, Fairuz Fauzy, Salvador Duran and Nicolas Cheers, sixth.

The result must still be ratified.
