The 2009 calendar

For only its second season of existence, the Superleague Formula has partly revised its calendar. This will include a total of 9 events this year, all contested in Europe.

A nice surprise is also to be noted on the program, the appearance of a French round on the Magny-Cours circuit, where the inaugural race of the championship will take place. On the other hand, Germany loses its Nürburgring rounds, while in Italy Monza replaces Vallelunga and in Spain, Jarama replaces Jerez.

On the other hand, the organizers of the championship have made it clear that they intend to increase the number of events on the calendar in the years to come, with a program of 17 races in total within three years. We could therefore see certain events taking place in South America and Asia to achieve this.

Finally, the Girondins de Bordeaux club should soon confirm its participation. They would then rely on Bordeaux Racing, Jean-Noël Lanctuit's structure based on the Mérignac circuit, a few kilometers from the Girondins training center? The club will therefore become the 19th to join the ranks of the Superleague, alongside other major teams from around the world such as AC Milan, Liverpool FC, FC Porto, and Borussia Dortmund.
