The World Series by Renault gets a makeover

Formula Renault 3.5 Series
If technical stability is essential for next season, the pilots will no longer have the opportunity to use the "push to pass", a system removed and compensated by an increase in the maximum engine speed, which goes from 8200 to 8500 rpm. But it is in the organization of meetings that the changes will be most numerous. The FR 3.5 Series says goodbye to the SuperPole and reverse grid system. As is the case in Formula 2, two thirty-minute qualifying sessions will be established to define the grid for each of the two races, which will last 44 minutes plus one lap. There will therefore be one qualifying session and one race per day, on Saturday and Sunday, with the exception of Monaco, where only one race will be contested. With eight meetings (see elsewhere), plus the principality weekend, seventeen races will be on the program in 2010.

Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0

The arrival of New Formula Renault 2.0 is the major change of this new season. In addition, drivers will now be subject to stricter regulations, being unable to participate in more than one FR 2.0 championship. Between the Eurocup and the national championships, the drivers will have to choose. They will, however, have the freedom to compete in two additional races in other championships, in addition to the initial series.

At the sporting level, a single qualifying session will be used to establish the starting grids for the two races. The best times will establish the starting grid for the first race and the second best times will be used for the second race. The two races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, will last 25 minutes plus one lap.

Eurocup Megane Trophy
The organization offers the possibility, from the 2010 season, of seeing two drivers share the wheel of the same car at a meeting. One qualifying session (15 minutes) and one race (40 minutes) will be contested per day, Saturday and Sunday, at World Series meetings. The winner of the series will be able to complete a day of testing aboard the Nissan GT-R GT1.
