Nick Cassidy relaunches in Sugo

Author of his first podium in Super Formula in 2020 during the last meeting in Okayama, Nick cassidy has definitely found the tempo this year, with its first victory won this Sunday on the Japanese track of Sugo.

The reigning champion, who started fourth on the grid with his car from Team Tom's – Toyota, waited patiently at the start of the race, letting Ryo Hirakawa (Team Impul – Toyota), take control of the event at the start against pole sitter Sergio Sette Camara (Buzz Racing with B-Maw – Honda), author of the pole for his debut in the series.

A performance which will not be followed by the facts in the race, since the Brazilian will make a mistake in the wake of his pit stop, precipitating the entry into action of the safety car, and the passage to the pits of the rest of the peloton .

It was after the restart that Cassidy made his effort, getting rid of Naoki Yamamoto (Team Dandelion Racing – Honda) then the leader Hirakawa to control the end of the race and ultimately win ahead of the two Japanese in that order.

Hirakawa, however, retains control of the championship ahead of Cassidy. Disillusionment on the other hand for the French Sacha Fenestraz (Kondo Racing – Toyota) eliminated in the first round after contact with Kazuki Nakajima (Team Tom's).
