A few hours after Toyota, it is Nissan which has confirmed its sporting program for the current year. This will be based in particular around two disciplines: Formula E and the Super GT, the Japanese grand touring championship.
In Formula E, Nissan extends its collaboration with Dams. Still under the direction of the Driot brothers, Olivier and Grégory, the line-up does not change. Sébastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland represent the brand throughout the season.
Nissan will also be well represented in Super GT this year with no less than four Nissan GT-Rs on the grid. Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli share the No. 23 of the NISMO team. Kohei Hirate and Katsumasa Chiyo retain the No. 3 in NDDP Racing with B-MAX.
The No. 12 GT-R of Team Impul is entrusted to the duo Kazuki Hiramine/Nobuharu Matsushita while Mitsunori Takaboshi and Daiki Sasaki will be in the No. 24 of Kondo Racing.
In GT300, three Nissan GT-R GT3 NISMOs will be present in the paddock: two for Gainer and one for Kondo Racing.
Nissan also confirms its commitment to customer teams. NISMO will continue to support teams competing under the FIA GT3 regulations with Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s.
Finally, Nissan/NISMO, through Oreca, will provide technical support on the VK56 engine to teams using it in the LMP3 category in ELMS,ALMS, IMSA or even Le Mans Cup
