Pierre Gasly confirmed in Super Formula

Le Red Bull Junior Team has revealed its program for the 2017 season where it will support five drivers.

After winning the GP2 Series title and hoping to land a seat at Toro Rosso, Pierre Gasly will continue to be supported by Red Bull which offers it a Super Formula program. The 20-year-old Frenchman will thus follow the path taken by Stoffel Vandoorne who was established this year by McLaren after playing in the Japanese Single-seater Championship. However, his team has not yet been announced, but according to our information, he should be involved in Nakajima Racing which competed in 2016 with Bertrand Baguette and Daisuke Nakajima.

After finishing 10th in the F3 European Championship with Team Motopark, the 17-year-old Finn Niko Kari will compete in the GP3 Series within Arden International.

Richard Verschoor will also remain integrated into the Austrian structure. The 16-year-old Dutchman is currently competing in Toyota Racing Series with Giles Motorsport and will evolve this year in Formula Renault 2.0 with MP Motorsport.

The Red Bull Junior Team welcomes two new drivers with Neil Verhagen and Dan Ticktum. The first is a 15-year-old American who will also defend the colors of MP Motorsport in FR 2.0, while the second is a 17-year-old British who will compete in the same discipline, but within the Arden International team.

On the other hand, Sergio Sette Camara and Luis Leeds no longer join the Red Bull Junior Team after spending only one season there. The Brazilian will still evolve within MP Motorsport in the GP2 Series, while the Australian will drive in Formula Renault 2.0.
