First victory for Macéo Capietto

Starting in 3rd position on the grid, Macéo Capietto scored his first success in car this Saturday, by winning Race 1 of the second meeting of the season at Magny-Cours. The son of Guillaume Capietto took advantage of a small error from Hugh Barter, who finished second, before overtaking leader Esteban Masson on the penultimate lap.

“I really didn't think I would win, confided Macéo after the race. To be honest, I was mainly trying to preserve my tires for the rest of the weekend, with Esteban Masson having a comfortable lead in the lead. Then I saw that he lost his fin, and I took advantage of it”

Double pole-sitter at Magny-Cours after having already dominated the two qualifications at Nogaro, Esteban Masson thought he would fly to victory with his 5 seconds lead over the competition. But the Habs saw the support of their front wing break when passing over a curb, leading to a big loss of downforce. He therefore fell to 4th position. In the junior championship, it is Dario Cabanelas who dominates Alessandro Giusti.
