Prost wants stability

Holder of the wheel of the French team in A1GP, Nicolas Cheers is coming off an honorable season but far from its ambitions. Sometimes disappointing, the Blues team finished the season in fifth place, only having one victory in fourteen races. However, Nicolas Prost would like to emphasize that the positive points are indeed present: “ I was able to show that I was capable of playing leading roles in Chengdu (China), Kyalami (South Africa) and Brands-Hatch (Great Britain). We managed to keep up with the best, which is encouraging for a first year. » But the son of the four-time world champion F1 also recognizes that everything did not go as planned: “ We didn't get many convincing results, sometimes because of mistakes on my part, sometimes because of mechanical problems for which the team was not responsible. It must be said that we have not had a lot of success at certain times! »

Nicolas Prost also thinks that his youth may have worked against him during certain races. “ I suffered a little from the lack of experience. And with the arrival of the new car, the level of the championship increased enormously and faster and faster drivers were attracted to this competition. » The pilot also praises the work carried out by Ferrari on car which now equips the A1GP paddock. “ This manufacturer discovered a new role in providing one-design cars, and the result is excellent. »

The native of Saint-Chamond is already looking towards the next season, which he hopes will be better for the Blues. “ We have worked well these last races, we have learned from our mistakes. Now we have a good basis for the future. For the moment, nothing is fixed, but the flow goes very well between the team and me at all levels. » And the pilot places himself in the context of continuity: “ The teams that win have shown that stability is needed to play for the championship. »
