Shwartzman champion, Armstrong winner

Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing) won the title F3 at the end of Race 1 in Sochi (Russia) where he was racing at home. Starting from pole, the Russian was overtaken by his teammate Marcus Armstrong at the start before the race was disrupted by the arrival of a brief downpour.

If Robert Shwartzman was able to regain control of the race, his New Zealand teammate regained the lead with an authoritarian overtake on the last lap.

Niko Kari (Trident) completes the podium ahead of Leonardo Pulcini (Hitech GP) and Jehan Daruvala (Prema Racing). Juri Vips (Hitech GP) finished 8th behind Pedro Piquet (Trident) and Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab) after being penalized for contact that occurred while the safety car was on track. The Estonian should therefore start from pole in Race 2. David Schumacher (Campos Racing), Ralf's son, finished his first F3 race in 22nd place after suffering contact.

F2 Race 3 will be broadcast live on Canal+ Sport Weekend this Sunday from 9 a.m.
