This is a career development that we didn't necessarily expect from Sophia Floersch. The German seemed to have found her place in Endurance during the last three seasons where she evolved with the Richard Mille Racing Team in ELMS then in WEC and with Algarve Pro Racing, again in ELMS.

The driver even had the opportunity to score two podiums with the Portuguese team, during the 4 Hours of Portimão in October 2021 then during the 4 Hours of Le Castellet in April 2022. First woman on a podium in the European Le Mans Series, she also became the first woman to set the best time in her category (LM P2) during the 2021 WEC Rookie Test with WRT.

However, it is in Formula 3 that the 22-year-old driver will race in 2023. Sophia Floersch will thus represent PHM Racing by Charouz in FIA F3, a championship in which she competed in 2020 with Campos Racing. “ I am really looking forward and very happy to return to FIA Formula 3 this season with PHM Racing by Charouz, explains the pilot from Grünwald (Germany). My goal has always been to race with the best of the best. Since the beginning of my career, I have worked very hard to achieve this goal every day with the support of my team. »

« It is well known that PHM Racing is on a mission to develop the next generation of talent in motorsport, adds Floersch. So I want to thank Paul (Müller, the owner of the team. Ed.) for giving me the opportunity to be part of his great team. I know that racing with PHM Racing will help me improve my potential in racing car. Together we want to develop and improve our performances throughout the season. I am aware that this opportunity comes with challenges and efforts. It will be a challenge for everyone. In motorsport, success and failure are unpredictable. Isn’t that why we run? »

« I have a lot of respect for Sophia's decision to return to promotion and take on the challenge in this competitive field, declared Roland Rehfeld, team manager of PHM Racing. She has extensive experience in professional racing in different categories with a very professional attitude and working style. The racing world helped her become even more ambitious and focused than many other male drivers. This is another reason why we start with Sophia. With our new campaign as PHM Racing by Charouz, we will do our best to support her on her way to the top. »

The Formula 3 season will kick off in Bahrain (March 3-5).
