Tech 1 honored to join the GP3

Tech 1 Racing, team entered this season in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, will join the GP3 Series, a discipline which will see the light of day in 2010. The Toulouse team was chosen after the submission of more than forty applications. “ For Tech 1 Racing, it is a great recognition to have been selected, admits Simon Abadie, Team Manager of Tech 1 Racing. This proves that we have succeeded in making a place for ourselves in the world of car, in just a few years. It is very important for us to integrate GP3, from its launch year. The level will be extremely high, it?s a great challenge for the whole team. »

Indeed, the mission will be difficult for the Haute-Garonne team, which will encounter very experienced teams in the field of single-seaters on its route. The two best GP2 Series teams, Addax and ART Grand Prix, will be there. Tech 1 will also feature teams competing in the Formula 3 Euro Series: Mücke, Hitech, Carlin and Manor. Like all the other teams, Tech 1 Racing will field three Dallara single-seaters, powered by a Renault engine. “ The goal is to enlist a pilot with experience and two young pilots, continues Simon Abadie. GP3 is a very good complement to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. We will compete in these two championships next year. Tech 1 Racing will thus have a single-seater sector. GP3 is a perfect discipline for training young drivers, then the Formula Renault 3.5 Series is a good alternative. We can thus offer young pilots a very good path to access the Formula 1. »

The single-seater used next season in the GP3 Series was developed this year and should arrive at the Tech 1 Racing premises at the beginning of January. As for the first tests, they will take place in March. “ It?s very interesting to discover a new car. We have the advantage of already working with Dallara chassis and Renault engines. As soon as we receive the car, we will study it to get to know it well. Until then, we will organize ourselves to put everything perfectly in place in order to provide very good equipment to our pilots. We have two big programs in 2010, this will be a very important season for us. »
