Tomoki Nojiri (Team Mugen – Honda) did not miss the start of Super Formula 2021 this Sunday at Fuji. In the wake of an authoritarian pole position yesterday, the Japanese offered himself a first success in the series since Autopolis last year, after having dominated almost the entire event.
Beaten at the start by Toshiki Oyu (Nakajima Racing), Nojiri waited until the 10th lap to regain his position by passing the leader from the outside at turn 10. From then on, Nojiri will maintain his position, by postponing his pit stop until the 39th lap.
The Mugen driver finally won with a 1″5 lead over Oyu, Nirei Fukuzumi completing the podium with his car from Dandelion Racing. Ryo Hirakawa proves to be the best pilot in the clan Toyota, finishing 4th at the wheel of the Team Impul car.
Tatiana Calderon (Drago Corse with Threebond – Honda) finished the race in 13th place.
