Almost a month after the end of the season marked by the coronation ofOscar piastri at Mugello during the last round of the year, the Formula 3 was back this Monday, for the official end-of-season tests in Barcelona.
On the program for this first of two days: two three-hour sessions, spread over two half-days. The morning was devoted to qualification simulations. In this little game, Matteo Nannini (Campos) was the fastest, while Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix), current Formula leader Renault, finished the session 5th and best rookie.
The first part of the afternoon was devoted to race simulations, where the beginners were able to get to know the degradation of Pirelli tires. Before a final session of fast laps, on a set of new tires for most of the teams, and during which Jack Doohan (Trident) was the fastest ahead of Calan Williams (Jenzer) and Dennis Hauger (Prema).
Victor Martins once again set the 5th fastest time, despite heavy traffic in front of him. The Frenchman had a solid first day for his first in a Formula 3. He will return on Tuesday for a new day of testing, still with ART Grand Prix.
Aligned with Trident, Clément Novalak finished the morning session in 9th place, then the afternoon session in 21st after having somewhat damaged his flat bottom in the first laps. Similar result for Pierre-Louis Chovet (Campos), 21st in the morning but 9th in the afternoon.
