WS F V8 3.5 – Isaakyan on pole in Bahrain

Matevos Isaakyan (SMP Racing by AVF) intends not to leave Pietro Fittipladi (Lotus) in peace this weekend for the very last meeting of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 contested on the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain on the sidelines of the WEC. The Russian, who is ten points behind the Brazilian, took pole for Race 1 by setting a time of 1'44''727. Henrique Chaves (AVF) was closest to the SMP driver, clocking in at almost two tenths of the benchmark.

Pietro Fittipaldi could see his lead reduced as he only managed to take fourth position behind his teammate René Binder after seeing his best time withdrawn for exceeding the track limits. The Brazilian previously thought he had secured the front row.

For her debut in the World Series Formula V8 3?5, Tatiana Calderon (RP Motorsport) took fifth place with more than two tenths ahead of her teammate Yu Kanamaru. Konstantin Tereschenko (SMP Racing by AVF), the replacement for Egor Orudzhev who was unable to come for the final, set the seventh fastest time ahead of Fortec Motorsports drivers Diego Menchaca and Alfonso Celis Jr. Roy Nissany (RP Motorsport) completed the list.
