Brilliant weather greeted the pilots MotoGP Friday morning for the opening session of the British GP. Despite a high-speed crash in turn 7, Johann Zarco was the fastest with a lap of 1'59.893.

The Frenchman set his time in the very last minutes just like Francesco Bagnaia, author of the second time. The Italian, who also fell, concluded the first session less than 30 thousandths behind Zarco.

Long leader, Alex Rins finally saw himself pushed back to third place in the hierarchy ahead of fabio quartararo. The world champion, who attempted several Long Laps in preparation for the race, was the victim of a small technical problem. Pushed by Jack Miller, he was able to return to his box to climb back into fourth position.

Takaaki Nakagami placed fifth with the status of first Honda rider ahead of the Aprilias of Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales. Joan Mir, Jorge Martin and Brad Binder, who uses different exhausts on his RC16, completed the Top 10.

Among the losers of this first session, we can cite Jack Miller, 12e behind Pol Espargaro, author of pole last year at Silverstone.
