The days follow each other and are not alike rally from Limousin. Hindered on Saturday by engine shutdown problems, Patrick Henry, despite his good times, had to chomp on the brakes. Even receiving a ten-second penalty, he saw his efforts on the track leave him behind his three rivals, Roché, Canivenq and Vigion. But, after the decision of the race management to cancel his penalty, the winner of Alsace-Vosges found himself in the lead with satisfaction. Thus, he was able to attack this last day of racing with a free mind.
From the first special (SS8) of the morning, Patrick Henry dominated the proceedings, leaving Roché at 7??6, Canivenq at 8??4 and Vigion at 10??, on a route that was nevertheless very short (7,90km). Again in SS9, the Franc-Comtois set the fastest time and left his opponents at a distance again, widening the gap a little further. The last special of the morning is ultimately the tightest, despite the length of the route (30,10km). However, Henry places himself in front again, his Peugeot 307 WRC winning in front of the 207 Super 2000s of Vigion and Canivenq. In the provisional general classification, Henry is almost 30 seconds ahead of the chasing trio and is ideally placed before the last three special stages of the rally.
