Renault Sport Technologies unveils Mégane RS N4, the latest addition to the Customer Competition department and intended to be the spearhead of Group N in Rallying.

Birth of the Mégane RS N4

Renault expands its range of cars rally and presents the Mégane RS N4, destined to become one of the spearheads of Group N from the 2011 season. Officially presented at the end of November, Renault Mégane RS N4 is based on the production model, with a 2.0 16V turbo engine. equipped with a 33 mm flange. The Renault Sport Technologies Customer Competition range is thus enriched with a sixth model, after the Twingo R1 and R2, and the Clio R3 “Access”, “Maxi” and “Evo”.

« Mégane RS N4 uses the independent pivoting front axle of the production car, which decouples the suspension and guidance functions in order to achieve very high level handling and traction. Developed by Öhlins? like on the entire Renault Sport Technologies rally range? Hydraulic stop shock absorbers are adjustable in three ways. As on the production car, the braking system uses specific Brembo components: 355 mm (front) and 290 mm (rear) discs, monobloc calipers and hydraulic handbrake. Renault Sport Technologies' new Customer Competition weapon will be officially presented during the Rallye du Var (November 26-28) and should make its first laps in public there, in order to debut in Rallying during the 2011 season.
