Nicolas Ciamin will be at the wheel of a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 operated by 2C Competition, a team which marks its return to French events. “ The first contacts with 2C Compétition date back to the end of 2021, explains the Nice resident. The announcement may seem late, but this program has come together gradually and it is a comfort to know that I am leaving for a full season. All the drivers intend to race in the World Cup, fighting for the title of French Champion is a great goal, the level is very high, it's a real challenge. »

At 24 years old, Nicolas Ciamin already had a good feeling behind the wheel of the Rally2/R5 (Fiesta, Skoda, Polo, C3), but he had never taken the wheel of the Rally2 created by the Korean firm. “ With Yannick Roche, my co-driver, we discovered the i20 N Rally2 on a test base in the Epernay region (Marne). Few i20 N Rally2s have been driven in rally, it's difficult to gauge his level of performance. I had no preconceptions. With the rain, we could not hope for such conditions, it was perhaps worse than what we could encounter in Le Touquet (March 17-19)! It's not easy to discover a car in these conditions. The i20 N Rally2 has very good potential, it has been designed to take very few movements. I like fast cars, I'll have to get used to them and work to find the right settings. I was really impressed by the engine designed by Pipo Engines, it is very efficient, it is the most powerful engine I have experienced with a Rally2. During these tests, we did not test the most optimal gasoline, there are still a few horses to scratch. I think there is very good potential, we have already found good solutions and an engine upgrade is expected in the middle of the season. »

The Nicolas Ciamin-Yannick Roche duo has ambitions and this passage through the French Championship could only be a step before returning to world events.
