Rally – Death of Frédéric Comte

The fifth round of the 2015 French Rally Championship was mourned this Friday by the fatal accident suffered by Haute-Savoie driver Frédéric Comte.

After a third time in SS1, the No. 5 Citroën Xsara left the road in the second special of the event, hit a ditch and its driver was killed instantly. His co-pilot and companion Angélique Comte was evacuated to Thonon hospital (Haute-Savoie).

A regular presenter at Mont-Blanc, Frédéric Comte had created his own AFC Racing structure based in Allinges in Haute-Savoie. He also entered several cars in this event. “The entire team of the organization of Rally Mont-Blanc Morzine and the French Automobile Sports Federation join in the family's pain. » indicated the FFSA in the press release published at the beginning of the afternoon.

Many tributes have already emerged, whether on cars, or on social networks such as those ofEric CamilliOr Stéphane Lefebvre. Julien Maurin, then leader of the rally, decided not to leave.
