Rallye des Vins Mâcon – Cuoq and Maurin are inseparable!

They had delivered a beautiful battle at Lyon-Charbonnières, then repeat their duel in Limousin. Jean-Marie Cuoq and Julien Maurin are definitely inseparable. On this first day of rally des Vins Mâcon, fourth round counting for the French championship, the two drivers once again displayed very close performances. If the good weather was finally there this Friday, caution was required when arriving in the wooded areas where humidity persisted after the rain showers that fell the day before. From the first special, it's Julien Maurin on his Ford Fiesta WRC who drew the fastest to claim the first scratch of the day, ahead of the Citroën DS4 of the reigning French champion. A first special marked by the poor performance of Eric Brunson (Subaru Impreza WRC), who would lose almost 30?? precious.

If the second special will be to the credit of Jean-Marie Cuoq, Eric Brunson would wake up to then sign three scratches during the last four specials of the day. The Subaru driver finishes 3rd of the day in the general classification, around thirty seconds from the leading duo. A duo who didn?t let go of each other all day, the largest gap separating them amounting to 2??2 during the last ES of the day. In the end, the reigning French champion leads the way with just a tenth ahead of the driver of the Ford Fiesta. That's what's promising for this Saturday!
