Rally France – Loeb dominates, Maurin hangs on

After the first loop of this second stage of the Rally du Var, last round of the 2014 French Rally Championship, Sébastien Loeb remains at the top of the general classification of the event at the wheel of his Citroën DS3 WRC. But the nine-time world champion remains under threat from Julien Maurin. The reigning French Champion is determined not to give up anything against the Alsatian. Maurin is just over fifteen seconds behind the WTCC driver, having notably scored two scratches in SS4 and 6.

Behind the leading duo, David Salanon is in 3rd place with his Ford Fiesta, but already more than 1'08 behind. The gaps then widen, Patrick Magnou placing his Peugeot 206 WRC in fourth position, more than 2′ behind, and Pierre Roché, who switched from a Mini JCW WRC to a Ford Fiesta for the occasion, is 5th, almost three minutes behind.

En Trophée Michelin, Franck Lions domine toujours au volant de sa Peugeot 207 S2000. Gilles Nantet (Porsche 996 GT3) domine quant à lui le GT.

Cédric Robert remains leader of the Citroën Racing Trophy, and Cyril Audriac retains leadership in the Peugeot 208 Rally Cup.
