Tsjoen keeps his hand in Le Touquet

Pieter Tsjoen did not wait for the withdrawals of some of his rivals to dominate the Rally du Touquet. Winner of the first three special stages of the event on Friday, the Belgian had already firmly taken command of the operations. This Saturday, the Ford Focus driver continued his domination, setting the scratch time in seven of the ten scheduled stages. At the evening of this second day, Pieter Tsjoen has more than 1:30?? ahead of Eric Brunson, winner of the Rally in 2008 and author of the best time during the last passage of the day on the seafront.

The leader of the general classification has a large lead over Eric Brunson but has ?profited? withdrawals from Marc Barbé, Guillaume Canivenq, Pierre Roché and Patrick Henry. Marc Barbé retired between SS4 and SS5 with a mechanical problem, while Pierre Roché had to throw in the towel after hitting a curb. Lack of success for the Subaru Impreza driver WRC, since the curb was hit after crossing the finish line in SS8. Guillaume Canivenq had to retire due to going off the road in SS4, while Patrick Henry suffered a gearbox problem.

Sunday, seven special stages are on the program, two loops of fifty kilometers and a final passage in the special stage contested on the seafront. The arrival is scheduled for 14:20 p.m.
