2014, a challenge for Robert Kubica

The old pilot F1 got off to a perfect start to its 2014 season with a nice success at the Jänner Rally in Austria for the first round of the FIA ERC. Thanks to a judicious choice of tires before the final SS, the Ford driver managed to win in the end to pocket his first major rally victory.

“This year will be a big challenge participating in the World Rally Championship with the best drivers and new events to come. » explains the former BMW F1 driver. “Of course it's very nice to win, but our priority was a little elsewhere. It was to gain experience and information to prepare for the Monte-Carlo. I have never been to this rally apart from reconnaissance in 2010. I have not driven on snow. The Jänner was a great opportunity and the season will be long and difficult anyway. »
Kubica is therefore confident but does not want to ignite too quickly. “Starting with being on the podium and winning a rally is always nice, but we need to keep our feet on the ground. »

This should be known shortly.
