Citroën does not give up

For the second stage of Rally from Poland, the pilots will meet in the Mazurian Lake region. Three new stages that they run twice: once this morning and again this afternoon.

After the first three stages, it is still the two Ford drivers, Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala, who are in the lead and who seem to be controlling the race. During the first timed event, Danowo 1, they set the second and third times, only preceded by Sébastien Loeb, restarted in SupeRallye this morning with a 20-minute penalty.

During SS9, it was the other Citroën driver, Dani Sordo, who set his first scratch time of the rally and who helped to put pressure on the leaders. Having returned to just 19,5 seconds behind Hirvonen after SS10, once again won by Loeb, Sordo has a good card to play during the afternoon loop to go for second or even first place. “ I pushed a little, the car behaved well and we made up some time ", he said. " It was a difficult and very fast stage, like in Finland, but I like it. My position on the road [third] is good and I think the surface is cleaning up more than yesterday. We will see what happens during the second loop. »

Behind this trio, a fierce battle is taking shape for fourth place. At midday, Sébastien Ogier passed the Solberg brothers, Henning and Petter. “ Yes, it is a very good result “, said Ogier. “ Not so easy towards the end because I made a mistake in my notes, but it was very quick and I had a lot of fun. »

The drivers left at 15:18 p.m. to begin the second loop of the day.
